Bengaluru Traffic Police Issues Advisory for IPL 2025 Matches

The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) has announced a series of traffic regulations to manage the expected congestion during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 matches at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. These measures will be enforced from 3 PM to 12 AM on all match days to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow.

Traffic Restrictions and No-Parking Zones

To facilitate better movement around the stadium, specific roads have been designated as no-parking zones:​

  • Queens Road​
  • MG Road
  • Cubbon Road​

Motorists are advised to avoid these areas during match hours to prevent inconvenience.

Special BMTC Bus Services

In collaboration with the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), special bus services have been introduced to assist fans traveling to and from M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on match days. These services will operate on April 2, 10, 18, 24, and May 3, 13, and 17, starting from the first home fixture against the Gujarat Titans on April 2.

The designated routes for these special buses include:​

  • SBS-1K: M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to Kadugodi (via HAL Road)​
  • G-2: Sarjapur​
  • G-3: Electronic City (via Hosur Road)​
  • G-4: Bannerghatta Zoo​
  • G-7: Janapriya Township (via Magadi Road)​
  • G-10: R.K. Hegde Nagar, Yelahanka (via Nagavara, Tannery Road)​
  • 317G: Hoskote​
  • 13: Banashankari

These routes are designed to cover key areas of the city, providing convenient options for spectators. ​

Extended Metro Services

To further facilitate transportation, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has extended metro services on match days. The last metro train will now depart at 12:30 AM from all four terminal stations, accommodating fans returning home after the games. This extension applies on the same dates as the special bus services.

Public Advisory

Attendees are encouraged to utilize public transportation options, including the special BMTC buses and extended metro services, to alleviate traffic congestion. Motorists should adhere to the designated no-parking zones and plan their routes accordingly.

The BTP urges all commuters to cooperate with traffic regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone during the IPL season.
